I just received the following e-mail from a colleague and requested that I circulate this within our network.

The best thing is that the third (3rd) section of the High Line will open this fall. They are organizing this event as part of the opening events. Below is a copy of the email.

"For this procession, we are working with Professional Arts Workshop to create pageant puppets and performing objects. Creating these pieces will take place during workshops offered throughout all of next week. ----

Join the opening season celebrations and become a part of this historic moment.

This fall, we're inviting hundreds of our community members to celebrate the opening of the High Line at the Rail Yards with a procession. As a neighbor, volunteer or supporter of the High Line, we want you to be a part of this exciting event!

Join Processional Arts Workshop and Friends of the High Line to imagine and build pageant puppets and performing objects for the opening procession. Come to a workshop to draw inspiration from local west side histories and your own experiences.

Add your voice to the puppet-making workshops from August 23-31. Feel free to drop in for an hour or stay all day!
