Fulton Center

At the "MTA's Next Big Thing: Fulton Center" the architects and designers presented the station that will open on November 10th. Thirteen years and sixty-one days ago, two planes attacked the World Trade Center Buildings and the Fulton Subway Station was another casualty. In a few days the public will have access to the first 21st century subway station in our city. In 2003 The Corbin building, atop the Fulton Station, was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The new plans for the site had to restore this building to its previous beauty. The presenters discussed the main floor and the oculus, one might compare it to a modern Pantheon. Below are a few pictures from their slide presentation. In a few days we will all see the new station with the new name, Fulton Center. I'm excited to join the group next week to check our 21st century station. See you at the Center.
