Have you feared something so much that you avoided it as much as possible? One of my fears was night time photography. It seemed that most of my evening pictures would come out either black or so dark that you can't see the details. Or, how about one that is so bright like a nuclear bomb had been set off. For years that had been my experience and I have dreaded taking pictures at night. I would always steer my subject into a well-lit room.

Recently, I decided to take a photography course to learn about night photography. After two nights, I have fallen in love with this experience and hope to get better at it. We went into Central Park, began shooting our surroundings, most of the pictures were without flash. Flashlight sticks did give us all some interesting pictures, such as a heart, star and even Mickey Mouse. Now that I know more about night photography, I am embracing it. I can't wait to take pictures of all the Christmas lights in New York with these new technique.

As I continue to explore night photography, I plan to post them so you will enjoy this new love of mine--night photography.
