A Last Look at 2014

The last few weeks have been difficult for my family since my mother passed away before Christmas. I returned to San Diego to be with my siblings. While there I visited two holiday sites, the Quail Garden and Balboa Park. I have added pictures of these great light shows on Facebook and Pinterest. I returned home and hope to continue writing about wonderful locations and events around this great city, New York.

A new feature, "Guest Writers Speak or Neighborhood of the month" will debut on our site in the next couple of weeks. I hope you will enjoy it. We plan to ask you to contribute your ideas of neighborhoods you want to know. There are some other plans in the coming weeks, so please keep coming back to discover where we have been and where we plan to go.

The new feature launch is on an English lady from the 16th century who defied her country, religious intolerance and so much more. She should be prominent in our history books, but seems to have been forgotten . Let us know on Facebook who this strong woman is and the town in New York she settled.
