Woodhaven
It was once named Woodville. It had to change it's name to Woodhaven since there was another town in New York with the Woodville name. Back in the early 1800, there were two well-known racetracks in the area.

Jamaica
The name came from the Native Amarican who called it "Jameco" for beaver. This was once the county seat of Queens County until 1788.
