A subsection of the Allerton neighborhood, it is just south of Pelham Parkway and east of the Bronx River.

Morris Park

Back in the 1890-1910 there was a a racetrack in this area which was built by John Albert Morris. There was a fire in 1910 and the property was divided into lots to create this neighborhood.

It is only 1 1/2 miles long and it is west of Long Island Sound.  At one time owned by Thomas Pell. After the American Revolution, oystermen settled on the island and ship building industry grew.
